Come In Costume To Celebrate Dylan With Your Community
Bob Dylan is indisputably one of the best singer-songwriters to have ever been born on American soil. His songs told powerful stories, moved people, and made a lasting impact. Through music, Dylan was able to teach us all a little bit more about our world and ourselves.
You can celebrate his legacy at the upcoming 25th Annual Bob Dylanfest at Torino Plaza at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on May 3rd. During this standout among local events, over 50 talented musicians will pay tribute to Dylan. You will not be left looking for things to do on that Sunday, as the event runs from 12:00-8:00 p.m.
At this fun festivity which has been held each year since 1991, the house band, Hard Rain, will be joined by Marty Rifkin, Chris Shifflet & The Dead Peasants, Dry September, Steve Whalen, Brax Cutchin, James Lee Stanley, Chase Keepe Hill and many more.
You are encouraged to dress up in costumes, characters, and interpretations of Dylan songs to add to the fun. Past examples include versions of “Tangled Up In Blue, “Farmer’s Daughter,” and “Highway 61.”
There will also be food, non-alcoholic drinks, wine and beer for sale. The food will be prepared by acclaimed local Chef Michael Shafer. Tickets for the event will be $30 if you buy them in advance, but will be available at the door for $35. Kids under 14 can get in for $10. You can get your tickets online here.
