Participate in GI Joe’s Pier to Pier Run/Walk on November 18th.
For over fifteen years, local boot camp instructor “GI” Joe Charles has organized the Pier to Pier Run. This event is held biannually, once in spring and once in the fall. This year’s fall run will take place on November 18th, 2017.
The event will begin at 8:00 in the morning. The course will take participants from the Hermosa Beach Pier to the Manhattan Beach Pier and back again. The run is approximately four miles long through the sand, and is considered appropriate for runners of all skill levels.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and are $35 per runner until October 14th. Participants will receive a free commemorative t-shirt, goodie bag, and a chance to win several exciting raffle prizes. In addition to these offerings, race winners will also receive special prizes, such as a gift certificate for GI Joe’s Boot Camp valued at $222.
This year, the proceeds will support GI Joe as he continues to rehabilitate after his near-fatal stroke in 2015. GI Joe has already made tremendous advances in his recovery. Since his unfortunate health scare, he has gone from being wheelchair-bound, to standing at the starting line of this year’s spring event.
