Celebrate With Your Community At This Great Local Event
Even if your ancestors did not hail from the Emerald Isles, you get to celebrate your Irish roots on St. Patrick’s Day because, as the saying goes, everyone is a little bit Irish on St. Patty’s Day! If you are looking for things to do that will make you shout, “Erin go bragh!” get the family dressed in green and head down to one of the area’s premier St. Patrick’s Day events- the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Tomorrow (on Saturday, March 14th), come down to the parade route to enjoy the festivities beginning at 11:00 a.m. This will be the parade’s 21st year of bringing the Hermosa Beach community together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Around 30,000 people join together to share in the celebrations, as well as the great shopping and dining in Hermosa Beach.
The parade kicks off from a staging area that will be set near City Hall on Valley Drive. It will make a left on Pier Avenue and will end at Hermosa Avenue and 10th Street. Do not miss the hundred local businesses, school marching bands, civic organizations and more that participate in the seven-block parade down Pier Avenue. There will be bagpipers to regale you, stunning floats, and even furry participants from the Irish Setters Club of Southern California.
This parade is the perfect way to kick off the week of St. Patrick’s Day with fun for the whole family. Participate in over two decades of local history and enjoy the fun that comes down the newly restored Pier Avenue tomorrow.
